The 1990 Historic Orthoimagery was derived from traditional orthophotography. Images will be in raster format. Original film negatives were cleaned, scanned, and diapositives were created from these scans. The digital files were stored on DLT tape. Files were uploaded to workstations for rectification and mosaicing. ERDAS Imagine Orthobase software was used to create a seamless county wide image. Elevation data from the 1997 photography was used in this process. The original 1990 was flown of an altitude of 1"=1000'.

Every other 1963 film negative,1519 in total, were scanned at 24 microns. Images were transferred to DLT tape in .tiff format. After rectification images were saved in .img format. After the mosaic process images were saved as Mr. Sid so that rendering times were lessened for the users.

Fidicuals were measured.
Digital files were put on DLT tape in .img format.
Tapes, original negatives and diapositives were shipped back to Oakland County.
DLT tapes were cataloged.
Digital images were served to processing machines for rectification.
Blocks of 4 to 7 images created using ERDAS Imagine OrthoBase.
Images were recitified.
When all images from one township were completed they were mosaiced into one image.
Control points were gathered with the use of a reference image from the 1997 flight year and the 1997 DEM.
Original negatives were cleaned.
After all 25 townships were mosaiced Mr. SID images were created for the entire flight year.
Diapositives were created for each negative.
Negitives were shipped to the Woolpert LLC company.
Woolpert scanned each negative at 24 micros.
