<suppInfo>Oakland County provided all available County DTM data. Prior to digital orthoimagery production, the DTM data was reviewed and formatted for Ayres Associates systems.  The existing DTM for the project required very little modification.  In areas that did require modification a combination of stereo compilation and autocorrelation was used to update the DTM data. Autocorrelation is a process of comparing pixel values between overlapping aerial photos and assigning horizontal and vertical values to each pixel. Using an automated matching software Ayres Associates generated a grid of points (digital elevation model) suitable for ortho rectification. Stereo compilation was accomplished on digital photogrammetric workstations.  Mapping technicians viewed imagery in a three dimensional environment. Photogrammetric software was used to collect terrain features as mass vertical points or breaklines on surface features. The resulting digital terrain information is suitable for ortho rectification. Using Intergraph digital orthophotography software, Ayres Associates rectified the imagery to the DTM surface. Bilinear re-sampling was used for all orthoimagery. To minimize building lean, achieve consistent tone across the project area, and to address the overlap between mosaics, all the imagery in the block was processed.  Image mosaicking was accomplished by a combination of automated and manual methods.   Manual image editing was completed to correct warped bridges and other rectification and mosiacking related issues. Finally tonal balancing was performed on individual tiles, as well as the project as a whole, eliminating the flight line effect. Orthophotography was delivered in 2500' x 2500' tiles in GeoTIFF format with a world file. In addition to the GeoTIFF files, Lizard tech MrSID files were delivered. The MrSID mosaics were delivered by Township with a compression ratio of 15:1. In addition, a countywide mosaic was delivered comprised of 2' pixels and a compression ratio of 30:1.</suppInfo>
