A Full-canopy, 2-class map for the 7-county SEMCOG region in southeastern Michigan was developed to support land cover and land use modeling. The classification was created to support SEMCOG's Green Infrastructure Initiative and to compliment the Green Infrastructure Level 1 land cover classification created as part of this project. National Agricultural Imagery Program (NAIP) digital aerial imagery at 1-meter resolution was classified to a 2-class classification scheme with the following classes 1. Non-canopy 2. Canopy. The imagery was classified using Classification and Regression Tree techniques (CART analysis) and raster modeling. Adjusted from the SEMCOG full canopy raster file, the data was reprojected to the Oakland County projection.
