<stepDesc>The coverage was imported into a line feature class of a personal geodatabase, which was then imported into SDE. The original shapefiles and geodatabase were overlaid and visually checked to ensure any shifting only existed along the geographic township boundaries.</stepDesc>

<stepDesc>Using ArcEdit, dangling arcs along the geographic township boundaries were snapped (approximately 25 dangles).</stepDesc>

<stepDesc>The 3D Analyst extension was used in ArcMap to generate shapefiles for each of the 25 geographic townships. The TINs used for input were derived from 2000 orthophotography.</stepDesc>

<stepDesc>In ArcInfo Workstation, the shapefiles were converted to double precision coverages, and edge snapped to each other using a tolerance of 10 units. The 25 individual coverages were then appended together. The resulting coverage was build on line and node.</stepDesc>
