Description: The MunicipalDistrict feature class was adapted from a shapefile downloaded in May 2010, from the State of Michigan's Online Geographic Data Library (http://www.mcgi.state.mi.us/mgdl/). This file is from Version 9b of the Michigan Geographic Framework (MGF). To create this polygon feature class, Michigan Geographic Framework Villages and Michigan Geographic Framework Minor Civil Divisions shapefiles were downloaded. They were reprojected and clipped to the regional extent, which includes Oakland, Livingston, Washtenaw, Wayne, Macomb, Monroe, St. Clair, Lapeer, Genesee, and Shiawassee Counties. The area containing the villages was removed from the minor civil division file using the Erase command in ESRI's ArcMap. The FMCD field was removed from the MCD file, and the PLACE field was removed from the village file. The village file and the new minor civil division file were merged. The scale of the data collection is unknown. The key attributes include: NAME, LINK, and SQMILES.
