description:
|
Digital orthoimagery is a product of a fully digital process in contrast with traditional orthophotography. Digital aerial imagery is collected on magnetic tape then extracted when the mosaic is created. Oakland County's 2002 orthoimagery was collected during "leaf off" conditions at 10,000 ft. above ground level (AGL). The digital black and white imagery was rectified, and mosaiced to provide a seamless countywide image. The automated production process results in some image quality issues such as inconsistent tone balance, visible seam and mosaic lines. However these issues have no impact on the positional accuracy of the imagery. |
