Description: The AerialTile1957 feature class is a digital version of the tile index used as a reference dataset for the 1957 Historical Imagery. The tile index is a polygon feature class downloaded in 2008 from Remote Sensing & Geographic Information Science Research and Outreach Services at Michigan State University. First the projection was defined on the original shapefile as NAD83 Michigan GeoRef Meters, and then the repair geometry tool was used on shapefile because geometry problems were detected and lastly the shapefile was imported into the spatial reference dataset. The field named "Georeferenced" was added to the original feature class to include a "Yes" or "No" comment. Georeferencing will be based on project need. The tiles will be located in Y:\GISData\HistoricalImagery\Reprojected1957. The original data was created by Remote Sensing & Geographic Information Science Research and Outreach Services at Michigan State University.
