This dataset, spatially represented as polygons, depicts Oakland County's distinguished natural features (legally dedicated Natural Areas and the only National Natural Landmark in the County). Reference information for the feature boundaries came from two hard-copy maps of unknown scale provided by the State of Michigan Department of Natural Resources (DNR). Each feature represented was digitized using Oakland County's tax parcels and orthophotography as reference. Key attributes include: Recognition, Name, and DesignationDate. |
